THE SUN CAN FUND

HERE COMES THE SUN

The Sun Cancer Foundation, (The Sun Can Fund, Inc.) is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the South Florida community about how to safely have fun in the sun, the dangers of melanoma skin cancer and raising funds for research to find a cure

WHAT WE DO

The Sun Can Fund supports melanoma research and fundraising initiatives throughout South Florida while empowering families with practical, lifelong sun-safety education. We focus on sharing essential information about the benefits of healthy sun exposure, the dangers of sunburns, the importance of daily skin protection, and how to enjoy life outdoors safely while still recognizing the positive role vitamin D plays in overall health.

The Sun Can Fund is also developing a non-toxic, kid-friendly sunscreen that children will actually want to apply themselves, making healthy habits easier for both kids and parents. Beyond skin health, we are committed to protecting our beaches and oceans and championing any cause that thrives under the sun.

FOUNDERS STORY

Carol Trueba Abrams, Co-Founder of the Sun Can Fund, Inc., was an elementary school teacher for 35 years. A double melanoma survivor, she has also lost her sister, brother, and father to the disease. Her mission is clear: to educate her family and the community on melanoma prevention and support efforts to find a cure.

Jenna Trueba Cerenko, Co-Founder of the Sun Can Fund, Inc., has over 15 years of experience in marketing. Witnessing the impact of melanoma on her loved ones, especially her mother, inspired her to launch the Sun Can Fund. She is also committed to protecting her own children and teaching them how to safely enjoy the sun.
